Work with the body and Authentic Movement
with Angelika Doniy

Sabato 01 – Febbraio 2025 – Spazio Seme
dalle 16 alle 19.00
(english below)

Anjelika Doniy is a dance improviser, choreographer and teacher focused on contact.
After 5 years of formal studies of choreography, ballet dance and other stage disciplines at the Higher School of Culture (St-Petersburg), she worked for 10 Years as a theater choreographer.
From 2002 she started facilitating first jams and CI workshops in Russia and initiated International Contact Improvisation and Performance Festival in Moscow in 2006–2010.
Anjelika is grateful to have met and studied with such teachers as Regine Chopinot, Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith, Danny Lepkoff, Benno Voorham, Lisa Nelson, Esther Gal, Yaniv Mintzer, Martin Keo and many others.
We will be experiencing moving and dancing from inner impulses, finding pathways inside the body and relating to others with an inner guideline.
In Moving there is no right or wrong, just the sensation of connecting to our bodies, sensing and sharing the weight with somebody else, finding new ways of moving and expressing.
Contact improvisation offers a playful, self-defined way of connecting to other dancers. It becomes a joyful game of give and take.
Authentic Movement is a beautiful tool to connect to an inner moving impulse. It is a possibility to express feelings, images and information from the sunconscious that come through our bodies.
Bodywork teaches us about inner alignment and touchqualities, it is also a wonderful way to let our nervous system integrate our experiences.
We make room to process this in sharing.
The first relationship of a baby with the world starts with a hug.
The purest entrance to dancing is like a hug and reconciliation with our thoughts, body limitations and fears.
We will hug ourselves and broad the territory of our movement, dance and our concepts of ourselves and our understanding of dance.

Elastic attention & Elastic body – Contact Improv. Lab

Elastic attention & Elastic body – Contact Improv. Lab

with Angelika Doniy & Leonardo Lambruschini

25 – 26 January 2025 @ Spazio Seme (Tuscany, Arezzo)

angelika - leo foto

For teachers, for those already dancing, and for beginning participants.
Attention is what drives us when we are small, and it is what we create our reality with when we are big.
What is the ecological transition from one role to another and back again? It’s the student/teacher relationship within ourselves.

In this intensive we will explore ourselves as a process of multi-faceted learning:

– discipleship and transfer of knowledge,

– leading and following,

– letting go of roles, “grazing”, “fluttering”, experiencing ourselves as elastic, shifting attention,

– telescopic awareness,

– attention to big and small details.

And there is another truth in our continued growth of community – we cannot be without each other. Beginners without experienced dancers, teachers without beginners. We need each other to grow, to sniff the paths of dance, to give each other vectors for development. Listening to each other from different corners of the development of dance, intelligence and soulfulness, we can begin to understand our potential, the call to development and catch the path that we want to take in to further in life.

We are inspired to run a CI workshop-lab, and will create the conditions:

– Material that grows from the basics and moves participants to jam safely, with a reliance on technique.

– Te body secrets that will blossom like seeds and support your jam experience in the evenings.

– CI labs. We will create structures and let in the lab spirit that will allow not only my experience as a facilitators to manifest but allow teachers and advanced participants to unfold the beauty of their dance path.

– A variety of transitions from beginning level to advanced and back again, so that we forget how small or big we are while remaining innocent, light and friendly in the dance.

When participants come to the workshop with no experience or expectations — it helps them to face the new unawares, to surrender to the flow of information and movement. Their dance happens on its own, frantically, without the involvement of the mind.
When the experience is vast and juicy — one just wants to dance, to exchange tastes and things, to reach out to those who are already comfortable and familiar.
Our wish is that everyone meets the dance, touches the miracle of this freedom and puts it in the heart. And the heart knows where to go.

The workshop takes place at Spazio Seme ( Via del Pantano, 36) in Arezzo – Tuscany (IT)
You can stay in Spazio Seme even for the night, with the sleeping bags. If there are some special needs (especially about food), let us know and we’ll try to manage at best!

leggende

ImagSomaInation • BMC® meets Tuning Scores • LAB with Otto Ramstad

21 – 24 November 2024 @ Spazio Seme (Arezzo, Tuscany)

ImagSomaInation • BMC® meets Tuning Scores • LAB with Otto Ramstad
• How does composition arise our bodies and its interaction with the environment?
• Which parts of composing are improvisational?
• What happens when we go deep into our evolutionary capacities as a way to puzzle with how our body is playing and being played by our surroundings?
• Can we improvise in the space between imagination and somagination (somatic ‘imagination’)?
We will use Body-Mind Centering®, the somatic work of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Tuning Scores, developed by dance-maker Lisa Nelson, an improvisational composition practices. The research focuses on the action of the senses as the physical base of the imag/soma/ination.
We will use BMC and Tuning as tools in a framework for communication and create models of collaboration that is constructed by the players in the act of doing.
BIO / Otto Ramstad
Dance artist who makes performances, video works and installations for theaters, galleries, museums and different site and context specific encounters. He has an MA in Choreography from KHiO.
For twenty years he has been collaborating with Olive Bieringa as BodyCartography Project. The mission of BodyCartography Project is to engage with the vital materiality of our bodies to create live performance that facilitates a re-enchantment of embodiment, relationship, and presence.
He has had fellowships from Foundation for Contemporary Art, 2015 and McKnight Foundation, 2010, amongst others, and funding from MAP Fund, National Dance Project, American Composers Forum and National Performance Network, amongst many others. He has been an artist in residence at K3 Hamburg; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis and Carleton College, Minnesota. He’s done commissioned for Lyon Opera Ballet and PS122, NYC, amongst others.
His most current work Lineage looks at learning and how we learn, care, preservation and archiving by drawing lines between his learning of experimental dance and somatic practices, specifically Lisa Nelson’s Tuning Scores, Steve Paxton’s Material for the Spine, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s BMC and emergent the learning of his Norwegian cultural heritage which has been invisible to him.

Moving Presence | Body-Mind Centering® – Research Program 2024

Moving Presence | | Body-Mind Centering® Research Program 2024

420947453_881212697345026_418147537328459087_n
Is a research program offers a deep experience of the principles and approaches of Body-Mind Centering®. Through anatomical information, movement, touch, partnerwork and in group settings, structures in the body are made tangible and enable a deep, subtle experience of your body.
Four modules are dedicated to different body systems:
I Module Spring
“Organs: Fullness, Vitality, Relation”
27 April > 1 May |  – Spazio Seme. (Arezzo)
II Module Summer
Weaving grounds: Developmental Movement Patterns
17 > 21 July | Nature Retreat – Monterosi, Anghiari (AR)
III Module Autumn
Fluids: Rhythm and Flow
17 > 20 October | – Spazio Seme. (Arezzo)
IV Module into Winter
“The dynamics of Sensing, Perception and the Nervous System”
28 November > 1 Dicember | Nature Retreat – Gaia Terra. (Udine)
You will be provided with profound knowledge, engage in in-depth experience and become aware of the interconnectedness of inner and outer processes: awareness on a subtle, cellular level and its expression through movement. This will create space to expand your movement potential and your ways in which you express and differentiate, in other words: to inhabit your body in a new way. Contact improvisation and Authentic Movement will be layered in as integration. We will offer optional contemplative dance practice as mediation practice in the mornings and optional jamming in the evenings. Each module is dedicated to specific topics; the contents build on each other.
Prerequisites are a desire and willingness to move freely and have an interest in touch as well as self-responsibility in working with one’s own body.

Bio:

Leonardo Lambruschini
Contact, trust, movement are the central focus around which I develop teaching and practice, both for adults and children. Above all, trust in the present moment as a fruitful source of inspiration and meaning. I am attracted to places and contexts where various forms of art meet, communicate and create something new, that transcends languages and differences. I am also the co-founder and Art Director of Spazio Seme www.spazioseme.com – International Cultural Arts Center in Arezzo (Tuscany, IT). There, we create opportunities to research, organize, and manage festivals, intensive workshops, performances, artistic productions, and residencies. I develop and lead classes for children (ContaKids, PlayContact).
I teach C.I for adults and students, in Italy and abroad. I feel very attracted by the nature and expansive dimension of travel. I have taught at festivals and done intensive labs in India, France, Portugal, Greece, Israel, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Northern Ireland, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
I am one of the organizers of ItalyContactFest – www.italycontactfest.com

Consuelo Pacheco – Chile-Italy
Dancer, Teacher and somatic researcher. Since my childhood, the Dance experience has accompanied my work as a human being.
I started practicing C.I 12 years ago, and during this time my curiosity about the phenomena of the movement continues to expand and invites me to continue to explore unknown places. I am interested in exploring the dimensions of improvisation and the virtues of creativity that can be applied to plasticity and creativity to dance. In my curiosity about the phenomenon of being alive, in recent years I have ventured into the universe of contemplative arts and somatic practices, studying the Alexander Technique in greater depth. In addition, in my daily life I spend a large part of my time lovingly and respectfully raising my daughter Amanda, researching the Montessori and Pikler methods to delve into psychomotor evolutionary development in early childhood. Currently, I am studying the Ecology of Childhood Training at the European Institute of Perinatal Mental Health.

Susan Haines (USA)

Susan Haines is dancer, choreographer, and educator with research specializations in dance science, creative process mentoring, and movement ecology for sustainability of person, place, and planet. SECONDA EDIZIONE DI OPERA SEME FESTIVAL – Arezzo

e masterclass professionali.
